2016 Chevrolet Malibu vs. 2015 Chevrolet Malibu
Chevrolet has worked extra hard to make the Malibu competitive. In fact, they’ve worked harder than most automakers mainly because the Malibu was sub par compared to others in its segment. A redesigned Malibu debuted in 2013 but was quickly sent back to the drawing board after lackluster reviews. Less than 12 months later a 2013.5 model was introduced with an exterior and interior refresh. With competition heating up Chevrolet immediately began working on the next generation Malibu, which will debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April.
Looking at the teaser image released by the company it appears that the all-new Malibu is in fact all new. A receding roof line makes the new Malibu look like a sports coupe, which completely strays away from the current design. The boomerang-like rear quarter panel bares resemblance to the new Nissan Maxima. The side profile of the front appears similar to the current model, but like the rear, the hood swoops down more into the grill. Hopefully, Chevrolet will release more images before the full reveal in April.
