2016 Kia Optima vs. 2015 Kia Optima
2016 Kia Optima vs. Kia Sportspace Concept
It’s hard to believe that the current generation Kia Optima is already five years old because its modern design can easily pass as at least a 2014 model. Yes, it was given a minor facelift last year but you’d have to look really close to see the difference. The next-gen Optima is slated for debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show next month.
Kia didn’t release any other information along with these two teaser photos but it’s safe to assume that the new Optima will share design cues with the Sportspace Concept that was shown in Geneva. The biggest difference will be in the rear as the Optima is a sedan, not a wagon. Despite being available for five years the Optima has been Kia’s best selling model for three years running. So expectations are high for the next-gen Optima to stay atop of the automaker’s charts. Judging by the high praise that the Sportspace Concept received it shouldn’t be a problem for the upcoming sedan.
