Yep, there will be an all-new Volvo XC90. But we already knew that. We’ve known it for several months as Volvo kept teasing us with concept images and technological advancement news. Some of us have known for many years considering the current XC90 hasn’t seen a major redesign since it debuted in 2002. Waiting over 10 years for a redesigned model isn’t the norm but Volvo had to do some major restructuring and platform changes.
The 2015 Volvo XC90 will be the first model built on the scalable product architecture (SPA) modular chassis technology that Volvo has been working on for the last four years. The XC90 is Volvo’s flagship model so they want to make sure they get it right. The wait will finally be over in two weeks when Volvo unveils the all-new XC90 in Sweden. Hopefully this won’t be another cruel tease since the official launch is scheduled for the 2014 Paris Auto Show in October.
